As a distributed team with staff located from Wiltshire to Suffolk, Durham to South Wales, and Manchester to Tipperary, living our values every day is key to Hatching Ideas’ success. We truly believe that “teamwork makes the dreamwork” and we live and breathe the work practices that make that happen. When it comes to collaborating remotely, the little things really are the big things that enable us to connect, communicate and work together to deliver creative, impactful solutions.
The benefits of working as flexibly as we do are something that we treasure. But there’s nothing quite like getting together in person to deepen connections, strengthen bonds and get to know the humans behind our screens.
So, every quarter we look forward to our Hatching Ideas socials and the opportunity to come together for some real life fun, food and laughter. Our socials are a time to celebrate our achievements, and to fill our cups to the brim with words of inspiration, encouragement, and motivation. We get to know all the wonderful things our teammates have been doing, to hear how the business is performing, and to learn what new and exciting things are coming up in the pipeline. And most important of all, we get to know each other on a deeply human level, sharing jokes, stories, and hugs.
During November, we gathered in London for our Christmas social, held early to avoid any Covid-Christmas woes. Tube-strike action on the day made for some panicked messages and creative journeys, but nothing derails a Hatching Ideas social! Wearing Christmas jumpers and clutching Secret Santa gifts we travelled from far and wide to enjoy a magical day that did not disappoint. The evening ended far too soon following virtual clay-target shooting, bubbles and insanely good food at Clays Bar.
The next day we shared our photos, memories, and gratitude on Slack, remote once again but all the more connected, refreshed and inspired from time spent together with purpose.
